WEEKLY DEVOTIONAL

Lord, how can I honor you with my life today?

In 2011, we were vacationing in Panama City in St. Andrews State Park; a woman joined me on my early morning walk.  Somehow we touched on my favorite subject of listening to God.  Excitedly she said she was reading a book which talked about hearing from God.  It was a refreshing conversation.

In my devotions later, I confessed to wasting much time reading a mediocre novel and wanted to study spiritually nourishing books which would bring me closer to God.  It seemed He answered this way:

Walk with Me

I understand how easily the things of this world distract and draw you away from Me.

However, when you read inspirational and uplifting writings

you recognize My heart of love.

My love touches the hearts of other people you meet.

Now, we’ll see how the thoughts and inspirations you planted will grow.

Some seed may be planted on thorny ground with this life’s

cares, distractions and worries choking out My word.

You may never know, this side of eternity,

whether the seeds planted will root and a harvest will come.

Be faithful in praying for the people I send.

I give you many opportunities to talk to individuals.

You do well to listen to those people around you and to

encourage them to walk with Me.

Whose lives did you touch today?
How did you show my love to them?
