Accomplish My Purposes

I use many people to accomplish My purposes.

I especially use those who are My followers.

In every age, I have had heroes of faith,

who give up their lives to glorify Me.

You ask if it is the hard way to live?

Of course it can seem difficult to give up momentary pleasures,

yet students who want to excel, study long hours.

In this fallen world, it is very easy to give into the desires of the moment,

however I have always helped those who wish to do My will.

I lead and show the way.

When they succeed, they  recognize that it is My power at work in their lives.

My word says, “I have overcome the world.”

God’s power in people’s lives overcomes!

Hebrews 11:24-27 (NIV) “By faith Moses,  when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.” The entire eleventh chapter talks about many heroes of faith. It is very inspiring.

When I think back to my father’s life, I know it was God’s power that helped him, John Spillenaar, learn to fly and provided a plane for missionary work among the Aboriginal and Inuit people in northern Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Nunavut. There are now at least 47 small mission churches built throughout the region with pastors serving their individual congregations. He completed his last dedication of a church in the north a few months before his death at age 87. My dad had two important goals in his life, ‘to go north and see people accept Christ as their Savior.’ God is an awesome God!

I’ll always remember the two summers that I spent at Moosonee helping with the Indian Bible School that your father started there. On a lighter side, my first airplane ride was provided by your father at Silver Birches Camp.
