Lessons to Learn

You are becoming more like Me,

however your journey is not complete.

There are many lessons to learn at My feet.

I will always love you and stay close beside you,

though you may not see a visible form nor hear an audible voice.

I know you would like to see Me

as Peter, James and John did on the Mount of Transfiguration.

However, they still had more to learn.

They fell asleep when I requested they pray in the hour of My greatest need.

It is important to understand it is not with your strength, the Father’s will is accomplished.

The Holy Spirit was able to come upon them with power

after I died, rose again and ascended into heaven to sit at God’s right hand.

This is what made them different!

These men became strong, compassionate, and true men of God

who taught My gospel with wisdom, boldness and understanding.

Acts 1:8 (NIV) “And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”

The disciples were changed from the moment they met Jesus. It began with leaving what they knew, whether fishing or collecting taxes, to follow the Master. For three years they heard him, watched him, spoke with him, and worked with him. Later, when they received the power of the Holy Spirit, the significance of what they had learned filled them with passion for the gospel message.

As we sit or kneel quietly in His Presence and read the scriptures, we are given the opportunity to turn everything in our lives over to God for Him to teach us how to live in wisdom and truth, with compassion and understanding. His Word truly becomes a “lamp for our feet and a light on our path” and we are changed from the inside out.

I want to be changed. I want the power of the Holy Spirit in my life and to become more like Jesus in His compassion and His love.
