I Understand

I understand your world more than you realize.
I understand the many duties and distractions and
your desire for companionship and order.
You also have a desire for things eternal.
You seek a closer relationship with Me,
and stand up for the way of the cross.
You are grateful for the sacrifices I made,
and press on, like Paul mentioned, “toward the mark
for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”(KJV)
Enjoy this day with Me as your companion.

In the New Living Translation, Philippians 3:4 says “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

Paul was very single-minded in traveling throughout the country presenting the gospel to others. He penned much of the New Testament through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. While imprisoned he witnessed to many and prayed for all the fledging churches and fellow Christians.

At times, we need to examine our lives and priorities. As we pray, God helps us define our purpose and mission and fulfill God’s plan for our lives.
