The Jezreel Valley and Armageddon

IMG_1457

This picture was taken when we visited the historical site of Megiddo. The Jezreel Valley today is very peaceful and fertile. It is often referred to as the “breadbasket ” of Israel since it is very flat. It is watered by the Kishon River from the west and the Harod River to the east. Since much of Israel is quite mountainous, this land is very important to Israel. According to the Bible, the valley was the scene of an Israelite victory which was led by Gideon against the Midianites. However, this site is also referred to as Armageddon in the book of Revelation, where the last great war will take place. “And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:16 NLT)

Many people believe we are living in the last days and that battle will happen in the future. The rapture of Christians will occur first. Perhaps God is withholding judgment for more people to accept Christ as their Savior. The dividing lines are clearer than ever in our own country. Christians are being singled out for their belief in the Bible and their consistent walk with the Lord. We pray God will send another Great Awakening. Some of you may recall in the seventies and eighties, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in mainline and Catholic churches where as many as 2 million people received Christ and the Holy Spirit which changed their lives.

We had the privilege of discipling through Bible study, several individuals from various denominations after they had accepted Jesus as their Savior. Many of these people became instrumental in winning others to Christ. God simply asks us to be faithful with what he has given us.

My message is to have a changed heart.
A changed heart will reach across barriers.
You will share what you have with others.
It may be little, but little is much in My hands.
I give you strength, energy and wisdom,
Love others with My compassion,
All I ask of My followers is to be willing to be used for My kingdom.

“We pray God will send another Great Awakening.” Amen!

I’ve been enjoying your posts on Israel, Rose, but haven’t been commenting on them because I haven’t known what to add to what you’ve said. Sorry.
